DEF LEPPARD Forced To Cut Short North Dakota Concert
June 28, 2003DEF LEPPARD were forced to cut short their outdoor show at the Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo, North Dakota Thursday night (June 26) due to bad weather conditions. Says DEF LEPPARD vocalist Joe Elliott: "We had to come off after 12 songs.... Wind, rain and cold made it impossible to play properly. Also, with the impending threat of lightning it was just too dangerous to carry on so, after advisement by backstage authorities, we finished 'Rocket' and (against advice) did one more song ('Pour Some Sugar On Me') before we had to end the show."
Even though most of the crowd seemed sympathetic to the situation, to those who weren't, Joe would like to stress out, "We're really sorry, but no gig is worth the possibility of being electrocuted! And, incidentally, it is one of the few gigs we've EVER done since 1983 where we haven't played 'Photograph' and 'Rock Of Ages', so that's kind of unique... Our apologies!"
